A defect or vulnerability was only classified as a “trend” (such as the tendency for the TriggerTech cassette set screws to loosen and cause pin walking) if it was supported by multiple, independent, verified accounts across disparate, high-traffic firearms communities (such as Reddit’s r/AR15, Pistol-Forum, and SnipersHide).

Analytical Constraints

The conclusions drawn in this report are constrained by the following parameters:

  1. Reliance on High-Traffic Communities: Consumer feedback is inherently biased toward those who post online; individuals with perfectly functioning rifles are statistically less likely to report their experiences than those encountering catastrophic failures. Therefore, malfunction trends are contextualized as known vulnerabilities, not guaranteed outcomes.
  2. Verified Documentation: Factory specifications are drawn strictly from SIG Sauer’s technical documentation and verified armorer manuals, ensuring that marketing claims are separated from mechanical reality.
  3. Absence of Automated Bench-Testing Data: While mechanical accuracy is synthesized from available field testing and known capabilities of MCX-forged barrels, specific minute-of-angle (MOA) group sizing is subject to the variance of environmental conditions, ammunition lots, and individual shooter proficiency.
